History:

The Free Church of Scotland is related to the family of Presbyterian and Reformed Churches. Her history goes directly back to the Reformation of the 16th century. The word FREE in the name was assumed in 1843 and has to do with independence from the State in the government of her affairs. She regards Christ as the head of His Church and also as the rightful Head of every nation. There has been a Free Church congregation in the Detroit area since 1951.
